What is Teeth Whitening?

Teeth whitening is a procedure that removes stains and discoloration from teeth.
Discoloration can be the result of a combination of things: genetics, poor oral hygiene, accidents, medication, the effects of aging, smoking, or certain foods.
Dr. Woodson can change all this and give you a “Movie Star” smile within one hour. Teeth that are discolored because of tetracycline or excessive fluoride are not good candidates for the whitening procedure.
Whitening techniques will only work for tetracycline staining if the discoloration is very mild. Veneers are the best solution for more severe tetracycline cases. Once you reach our office, Dr. Woodson will let you know what the best solution for you is.

First, we check the teeth for cavities as the whitening gel can cause serious damage if it leaks into these areas. If cavities are found, they must be repaired before tooth whitening takes place. If there are no cavities, we will begin the whitening process. The process is quick, easy, and comfortable. Under the supervision of Dr. Woodson, our whitening treatments are completely safe and will not harm teeth or gums. Our whitening system lasts a long time. This means you will experience very little whitening loss over time if you maintain good dental habits.

REMBRANDT® Whitening

We are delighted to offer our patients the latest in whitening procedures. Rembrandt Whitening System is safe and effective. Rembrandt Whitening System is peroxide-based whitening and ensures a deep clean to your teeth. Some people see immediate whitening. Our rapid-release peroxide penetrates deep to effectively whiten teeth. Fluoride is another important part of the REMBRANDT® process. Fluoride works to strengthen teeth, penetrating the tooth enamel beyond the outer surface. Fluoride is an anti-cavity agent that strengthens teeth and restores tooth enamel, making them more resistant to acid.
